Head Instructor
Ron Mays is a 32 year-old resident of Burlington, Ontario and is the goaltending coach of the Niagara Ice Dogs, of the Ontario Hockey League. Ron has played and taught the goaltending position for the past 18 years and has played an instrumental role in the development of goaltenders from Mite to the OHL and NCAA.

About our Program
How does our goaltending school differ from others? At the Ron Mays Goaltending School we take pride in offering the most comprehensive and progressive goaltending instruction available today. The enhancement of each goaltender’s skill level and knowledge of how to play the position takes place in an atmosphere of enthusiasm, hard work and respect for the demands of playing the goaltending position.

While most goaltending schools focus solely on the technical and tactical elements of the position while neglecting the physical and mental training components, at the Ron Mays Goaltending School we provide a complete program that encompasses every aspect of goaltending instruction-technical, tactical, physical and mental.

Goaltending Schools that only provide instruction on the technical and tactical component are, in effect, allowing goalies to play to only 50% of their playing potential since 50% of their developmental needs (physical and mental) are being ignored.

If your are serious about becoming a complete goaltender and maximizing your playing potential then the Ron Mays Goaltending School is the place for you to train. Whether you are a rookie goaltender or seasoned veteran, we can help you build a rock solid foundation of skill and prepare you to meet every challenge on the ice.

On-Ice Segment
During on-ice sessions, goaltenders will participate in a program designed to enhance each student’s technical skill level, as well as increasing their understanding of how to play the position and how to respond to the various tactical situations goalie’s face in a game.

All of the instructors at the Ron Mays Goaltending School are experienced goaltenders who have trained with me for many years and are well versed in my teaching methods and techniques.

Off-Ice Segment
The off-ice component of our program will focus on improving goaltender specific fitness, which will lead to an overall improvement in the goaltenders on ice performance.

Cost
The cost of this 35 hour/week program is $650.00 incl. GST. All students will receive a Ron Mays Goaltending School jersey included with their registration.
